Well, despair no more! Sweet T is now offering her expertly cleaned soaked fruit mixture. I know how expensive and time consuming it is to prepare fruits for making this wonderful cake. I take my time to remove any undesirable items like stems, seeds, and pits form my fruit to clean them before adding top shelf Appleton Rum and Red wine to the fruit. The Fruits need to soak for at least 3 long months before they are ready to be used in a cake. Some "recipes" online say soak fruits for 3 days to a month, but that is not enough time to get the texture and proper saturation of the fruit. That is why black cake takes so long to prepare if you want it to be the genuine article.
